This information applies only to credit courses

Students must be officially registered in order to attend classes. Students who are new to Cascadia must register in person (see Admissions Information). Returning students may register in person or via the web (see Register Online). Picture ID is required to process an add/drop form or pick up copies of transcripts or student records.

Class Audits

Students who wish to audit must be registered and have paid tuition and fees for a course, but may participate in class work only at the instructor's discretion. No credit is earned. Students may change to or from audit status, with instructor's permission, up to the end of the 2nd week of the quarter (adjusted for summer quarter).

Wait Lists

The waitlist feature offers students a fair and consistent method of being enrolled in a full class if an opening occurs. There is a waitlist available for all full classes. Students may place their name on 3 waitlists (but may not be in different sections of the same class, time conflicts or unauthorized over 24 credit status). Each waitlist will hold 24 students. The waitlist will close on the Monday prior to the start of the quarter. Students who choose to place their name on a waitlist will be automatically enrolled for the waitlisted class when a space becomes available. As space becomes available in a full class, the top name on the waitlist will move into the class. Once a student places their name on a waitlist, the student must check their schedule online daily at Cascadia's website or with Enrollment Services to find out if they have been registered for the class and to be informed of tuition and fees.

Students are responsible for:

  • Checking their schedule daily to see if automated enrollment occurred from the waitlist.
  • Paying tuition and fees by the tuition deadline. If automated enrollment from the waitlist occurs after the tuition deadline, tuition and fees are due the automated enrollment occurs. Nonpayment will result in the automated enrolled class being dropped from your schedule.
  • Clearing scheduling conflicts such as time conflicts, enrollment into the same class-different section, or unauthorized over 24 credit status. If scheduling conflicts are not cleared by 8am of the next business day, Enrollment Services will automatically drop the last enrolled class that caused the scheduling conflict.
  • Clearing any unusual action hold including parking fines, library dues, outstanding balances on student accounts, unreturned calculator holds or unpaid fees prior to the automated enrollment. If a space becomes available and the student's account is not cleared from the unusual action hold, the student will be removed from the waitlist and the spot will be offered to the next person on the waitlist.
If students decide to no longer be on the waitlist, they may remove their name from the waitlist through Cascadia's website at Student Online Services or with Enrollment Services, Kodiak Corner.

Schedule Changes

Students changing their class schedules should be aware that additional tuition fees or qualified tuition refunds may apply. Students on financial aid should check with the Student Financial Services Office, Kodiak Corner or finaid@cascadia.edu, to see if changes effect their aid status.

To Add a Class

  • Students may use Web registration to add classes to their schedule up to two days prior to the beginning of the quarter.
  • Students may register in-person in Enrollment Services, Kodiak Corner, to add classes to their schedule up through the tenth day of the quarter ( adjusted for summer quarter).
  • Students may register in person in Enrollment Services, Kodiak Corner, to add classes to their schedule. The current Add deadlines appear on the Registration Calendar.
  • Students may not attend classes without registering. To attend a class, students must officially register or add the class.

To Drop a Class

  • Students may drop classes on the Web or in person at Enrollment Services office through the 10th day of the quarter. The current Drop deadlines appear on the Registration Calendar.
  • Instructor permission is not required.
  • No grade will appear on the student's transcript for courses during this period.

To Officially Withdraw From a Class

Students may withdraw from classes by submitting a completed add/drop form with the instructor's signature to Enrollment Services prior to withdraw deadlines. Students who fail to follow the procedure for officially withdrawing will receive a grade in accordance with the instructor's grading policy. The current Withdraw deadlines appear on the Registration Calendar.

Administrative Withdrawal From a Class

Students who fail to attend class by the end of the second class meeting or who fail to contact their instructor regarding their attendance in class by the end of the second class meeting, may be administratively withdrawn from the class by their instructor. Students who do not meet course prerequisites will be administratively withdrawn from class.

Adjusted Dates for Summer Quarter

The important deadline dates to register, add, drop or withdraw from classes, change from credit to audit status, space available registration, and register or add for Continuous Enrollment classes are adjusted during Summer Quarter due to a condensed instructional schedule. Check page 5 for the important deadline dates that apply to you and your schedule.

Registration Appointments

Cascadia uses a computerized registration appointment process for assigning appointments to students. Appointments are automatically assigned according to the number of credits earned at Cascadia.
Note: Students cannot register before their appointed date and time.

Former Student Registration Information

Students who previously attended Cascadia, but have not attended for one or more quarters should contact Enrollment Services at 425.352.8860 to set up a registration appointment and update student information.

Non-Degree Seeking Students

Students not seeking a degree or certificate are considered non-matriculated students and may register for up to 24 credits per quarter. Non-matriculated students register during the open registration period, on a first come, first served basis. These students must demonstrate that they have met course prerequisites. Demonstration can be by college transcripts or by placement testing either at Cascadia or at another college within the past year.  Non-matriculated students who wish to seek an exception to a prerequisite requirement must present a written appeal to the Dean for Student Learning (CC2-154).
