Grants

Title: Complete Your Dream Grant - Students who encounter financial obstacles that may jeopardize their ability to complete 10 or fewer credits to graduate from Cascadia Community College may apply for the Complete Your Dream Grant.
Eligibility: Applicants must
  1. have 10 or fewer credits remaining to complete an AA degree or certificate,
  2. be graduating from Cascadia Community College at the end of the quarter for which assistance is requested,
  3. have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA, and
  4. be a Washington State resident.

A student may apply for this award only once.

Title: Students in Technology Grant - Students who are enrolled in a technology class at Cascadia Community College may apply for a Students in Technology Grant
Eligibility: Applicants must
  1. be enrolled at Cascadia Community College,
  2. be enrolled in a technology course, and
  3. use the grant money to pay for texts or recommended books and/or computer lab fees and supplies.

Preference is given to students committed to a career in the field of internet and/or web technology, with demonstrated financial need, and/or applying for the grant for the first time.  One letter of recommendation from the Cascadia faculty teaching the student's technology course is required.

Other Scholarships

Title: College Success Foundation Leadership 1000 Scholarship
Amount: $5,000 a year for four years - Up to 100 scholarships will be awarded for 2008-2009 academic year
Eligibility Criteria: - A Washington resident (for at least one year) planning to attend or are attending a Washington State public or independent college.
-  International students or students on foreign exchange or visas are not eligible.
- Enrolled high school senior who has applied or been accepted into a four year college/university OR an enrolled college freshman or sophomore at time of application.
- Planning to or already pursuing a four year undergraduate degree.
- Must have filed a FAFSA-Free Application for Federal Student Aid, if eligible to apply.  If not eligible to submit a FAFSA, alternative financial information must be submitted to the College Success Foundation.
- Income cannot be higher than:
Family of 3 $62,000
Family of 4 $70,000
Family of 5 $78,000
Family of 6 $86,000
Family of 7 $94,000

- Must have demonstrated high potential.
- Minimum 2.75 high school GPA at time of application if applying as a high school senior
- Minimum 2.75 college GPA at time of application if applying as a college student
- Must be planning to enroll or actually enrolled full-time as a college student for 12 credits per quarter
Application Deadline: May 15, 2008 is priority deadline.  The Leadership 1000 Scholarship will be potentially awarded throughout the summer as funding becomes available.

Title: Nathaniel Jacob Allen Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $300 for one quarter
Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must:
1.  Have not received a high school diploma or GED before entering Cascadia;
2.  Plan to pursue a professional or vocational certificate or an Associate Degree at Cascadia;
3.  Write a one-page essay describing why you are returning or have returned to school, what certificate or degree you want to achieve, and your plans after leaving school.
