Commencement Ceremony

Participants

All students who will complete their program of study by the end of summer quarter 2009 are invited to participate in the ceremony June 12th.  You must apply for graduation.  In order for your name to appear in the graduation program, your application must be received by May 15, 2009.  Applications are available online.

Friday, June 12, 2009

Time

The ceremony begins at 7:00 PM and runs approximately 1-1/2 hours.  Graduates should plan to arrive no later than 6:00 PM in order to prepare for the procession.  Doors to the seating area for guests will open at 6:30 PM.  There is plenty of seating.

Place

Lynnwood Convention Center

Guests

All graduates are encouraged to invite their family and friends to join them for this special event.  There is no limit on the number of guests and tickets are not required.  Announcements can be ordered through the campus bookstore (date to be announced).

Parking

Ample parking is available near the Lynnwood Convention Center

Reception

Refreshments are served immediately following the ceremony.  The reception is sponsored by the Associated Students of Cascadia Community College and the graduation committee.

Attire

Caps and gowns will be worn by all graduates and must be purchased through the Campus Bookstore on (date to be announced).  Please wear appropriate street clothing under your gown.  Dark shoes are traditional for academic dress.

Photography

A photographer will take traditional pictures of each graduate, as well as of the ceremony, and friends and family pictures.  These photos will be available for graduates to purchase at a later date.  All purchases are optional. Graduates can pre-register at their web site: www.gradphoto.com; password: CASCADIACC.
