Associate Dean

Ms. Gutierrez comes to Cascadia from the University of San Diego (USD) where she led Lead@USD. Prior to USD, Ms. Gutierrez worked at St. Lawrence University where she directed the Writing Center and team-taught in the interdisciplinary First Year Program. At Tusculum College, she chaired the English department and the committee charged with oversight of all academic programs. In 2004 Ms. Gutierrez joined Highline Community College to open and direct Puget Sound Early College, an interdisciplinary full-time Running Start program initiated with a Gates Foundation grant. Ms. Gutierrez, a Salzburg Fellow and Mellon grant recipient, earned her BA and MA in English from Virginia Tech.
