Environmental Technology and Sustainable Practices

Dr. Mel Oyler, Environmental Technology and Sustainable Practices Faculty, joined Cascadia in Winter 2009. His career has spanned R&D process engineering in the semiconductor industry to high-tech product development and marketing to teaching information science and systems design. Mel came to us from a project management position with Roots Landscaping, a boutique landscaping practice focused on native restoration and water conservation. His focus is on energy management informatics in commercial buildings, biomass engineering technologies , workforce education, and training returning veterans to restore sustainable practices in our society. Dr. Oyler graduated from the University of California with BS and MS degrees in Chemical Engineering as well as an MS in Electrical Engineering. He also holds a PhD in Business from the University of Washington.
