Open Learning Center
The Open Learning Center (OLC) provides technology assistance to support class assignments and offers an extensive list of technology related services - including a large computer lab, Macintosh based video editing stations and equipment check-out (laptops, calculators and audio-video equipment) for students. Trained assistants and staff members are available to help you individually or in small groups with a wide range of computer applications - including web technology, programming applications and more.
The OLC has computers currently configured with Windows 7 and Office 2013, the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and other applications that are used in the classrooms. Additionally, Macintosh computers with Yosemite are available for use (reservations may be required) . The OLC also has laptops, cameras (digital and video) and graphing calculators for check-out, flat-bed scanners, black & white and color printers for student use.
The OLC staff assists new and returning students with all of their network-related needs including assistance in creating your Cascadia Network Account and your UW NetID account.
Student ID Cards
The OLC creates student ID cards on a system that integrates identification and library card services..
The OLC offers students the tools to create multimedia projects or presentations, edit video footage, scan still images and create video for PowerPoint presentations for academic or college business use. Macintosh computers with Yosemite are available and include applications such as iDVD, iMovie and the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (including Premier Pro).
Media equipment check out is available for projects requiring the use of still cameras, camcorders, and audio recorders.
The OLC is located in CC2-060 on the lower level next to the coffee stand and co-located with the Math & Writing Center.

Hours vary by quarter and will be adjusted for operational needs. See Cascadia Building Hours for holiday closure information. The OLC is closed between quarters. Late return equipment from the Open Learning Center can be returned to the IS Helpdesk between quarters. The IS Helpdesk is open 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday when the campus is open. The Helpdesk can be located on the first floor of CC2 (upstairs from the Open Learning Center).
