English Placement via High School Transcript

High school students who have graduated in the last two years can place into College English using their high school transcript.

In order to place by transcript:

  • Students must have graduated from high school within two years of today's date.
  • Students must have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Student must earn a qualifying grade in one of the courses listed below.
  • Students must have earned a B or better in their last English class (even if the class is not the one being used for placement).

Placement by this method expires two academic years after the student graduates from high school. Please be sure to submit a copy of your high school transcript to admissions@cascadia.edu or to the Kodiak Corner. It is helpful to bring a copy with you to your CORE appointment. (Note: This table is for placement only. Credit may be granted by AP or IB exam scores. See the college catalog for more details.)
