Underage Student Admission: How to Apply

Follow all the steps below to apply for underage student admission.

1. Get an underage student admission packet.

2. Apply for admission to Cascadia.
 

 

Classes fill quickly, and we cannot guarantee admission to a particular class. For the best chance of getting into the class you want, apply before the priority underage student application deadline in the calendar. There is a $30 application fee.
 

 

After we receive your application, we will send you a student ID number via email or U.S. mail.

3. Take the COMPASS placement test.
 

 

You must demonstrate academic preparedness for college level work. To qualify for underage student admission, you must place into English 101 (reading and writing). 
 

Go to the Kodiak Corner/Student Services Center. No appointment is necessary, but allow 2 hours for testing.
 

You must pay a non-refundable fee and bring photo identification (such as a driver’s license or a passport). 

4. Schedule an appointment to submit all the required documents noted in your packet.

During your you will be advised of your responsibilities as a student in an adult learning environment and register for classes.

 
Permission to enroll as an underage student is granted on a quarterly basis. Approval to enroll for one quarter does not guarantee enrollment for a future quarter. Students wanting to enroll in a subsequent quarter must submit a signed Parent/Student Release and School District Enrollment Release Form each quarter they want to enroll.

 

5. Pay tuition and fees. If you do not pay on time, you will be withdrawn from all classes.

6. Get your student ID card. 

Go to the Kodiak Corner/Student Services Center.

7. Get your computer and email account information. 

Go to the Open Learning Center. You must go in person. You cannot complete this step online or by phone.
