Follow these steps if you want an academic degree, an applied science degree, or a certificate from Cascadia, UNLESS:

1. Apply for admission to Cascadia.
You can apply any time up to the first day of the quarter (see calendar), but the sooner you apply, the better your chances of getting into the classes you want.
After we receive your application, we will send you a student ID number via email or U.S. mail.

Fill out the application for admission to Cascadia [PDF] and submit it either:

2. Pay $30 Non-Refundable Application Fee.
|
Online Applicants:

In Person Applicants:
Payment can be made in person at the
Kodiak Corner during business hours.
Once your application fee has been received your application will be processed.

3. Before the beginning of the quarter, submit an official high school transcript.
|

4. Show that you meet the prerequisite(s) for the classes that you plan to take.
You can meet prerequisites in 2 ways. Either:
- Take the COMPASS placement test OR
- Ask an advisor to approve prerequisite credit for your scores on any advanced placement tests that you took in high school
If a class you want to take has a math prerequisite, you must have completed the COMPASS test or advanced placement test in the last 12 months.

Do one of the following:
Take the COMPASS placement test: Go to the Kodiak Corner/Student Services Center. No appointment is necessary, but allow 2 hours for testing. (You must pay a non-refundable fee and bring photo identification, such as a driver’s license or a passport.)
OR
Ask an advisor to approve your advanced placement scores: Contact the New Student Welcome Center for an appointment with an advisor. Bring an unofficial transcript or copy of test scores to your appointment.

5. Sign up for Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR).
At the SOAR session, you’ll learn about academic advising and course scheduling, and you’ll register for classes.

6. Pay tuition and fees. If you do not pay on time, you will be withdrawn from all classes.

7. Get your student ID card.
|
Go to the Kodiak Corner/Student Services Center.
You must bring photo identification and a printout of your student schedule (use the schedule planner ) to show that you have paid tuition.

8. Get your computer and email account information.
|
Go to the Open Learning Center. You must go in person. You cannot complete this step online or by phone.
