Transfer Students: How to Apply

Follow the steps below if you want to earn an academic degree, an applied science degree, or a certificate from Cascadia, AND you have credits from another college or university. 

What to Do How to Do It

1. Apply for admission to Cascadia.  
 

 

You can apply any time up to the first day of the quarter (see calendar), but the sooner you apply, the better your chances of getting into the classes you want.  

 

After we receive your application, we will send you a student ID number via email or U.S. mail.

Fill out the application for admission to Cascadia [PDF] and submit it either:

2. Pay $30 Non-Refundable Application Fee.

Online Applicants:

In Person Applicants:
Payment can be made in person at the
Kodiak Corner during business hours.

 

Once your application fee has been received your application will be processed.

 

3. As soon as you have applied for admission, schedule an appointment to meet with an academic advisor.
 

 

The advisor will help you make an educational plan and verify that you have met prerequisites for the classes you plan to take.
 

Call the the Kodiak Corner/Student Services Center and ask for an appointment with an academic advisor. 
 

Transcripts must be submitted 24 hours prior to appointment.

4. (optional). Take the COMPASS placement test if necessary to meet prerequisites.  
 

You do not need to take the test if your Cascadia advisor approves placement results from testing at another college or transcripts showing successful completion of college level English and math courses.
 

If you plan to take a class with a math prerequisite, you must have completed the COMPASS test or previous math class in the last 12 months.

 

Go to the Kodiak Corner/Student Services Center. No appointment is necessary, but allow 2 hours for testing.
 

You must pay a non-refundable fee and bring photo identification (such as a driver’s license or a passport). 
 

5. Submit official transcripts from any college or university you attended previously.
 

Submit a transcript evaluation request form. Submit the form before the beginning of the quarter.
 

We will evaluate your transcript(s) for class credit that can be transferred to Cascadia.

6. Find out your registration time. (You can register at the time given or after, but not before.)

To register after classes begin, you must come to the Kodiak Corner in person, and you must have permission from the instructor.  

 

8. Pay tuition and fees. If you do not pay on time, you will be withdrawn from all classes.

9. Get your student ID card. 

Go to the Kodiak Corner/Student Services Center.

10. Get your computer and email account information.

Go to the Open Learning Center.

11. Buy your books.
