Registering For and Attending Classes

Registration and Payment

  • Continuing Education students must make full payment at the time of registration.
  • If necessary a class may be cancelled for low enrollment by the College no later than 2 business days before the start date.
  • Continuing Education accepts cash, check, Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
  • You will receive a receipt by mail or email (for online registrations) for your class fees. We do not send class enrollment confirmation for Continuing Education classes.

Discounts, Waivers, and Auditing

  • Cascadia’s Continuing Education courses are self-supported and we receive no funding or subsidies. Discounts or waivers are not available for the military, seniors, or other students.
  • Continuing Education classes are not open for auditing.

 

Clock Hours and Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Clock hour credits (for maintaining teacher certification with the Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction) and continuing education units (CEUs) are available for many Continuing Education classes. You must call the Continuing Education office at the time you register, prior to the start of your class, to make arrangements and pay the administration fee.

 

Disability Accommodations

Requests for accommodations must be made at least 4 weeks before the service is needed. Students with a disability who require accommodations for learning must contact the Cascadia Community College Human Resources Director at (425) 352-8880. 

 

Children (Students Younger Than 18)

Our classes are designed for adult learners. Registration for students 16-18 years of age requires the instructor's permission and written permission from a parent or guardian. Registration for students under 16 years of age requires instructor permission, and a parent or guardian must also register and attend all class sessions with the student. To arrange for a Young Learner please contact Continuing Education.

 

Parking

On Campus - Payment is required to park on campus

  • Parking on the Cascadia/UW Bothell campus is $5.00 per visit. Before going to class, remember to make a note of your parking space number, and pay at one of the pay stations as you exit the garage. Cash, debit, and credit cards are accepted.

Off Campus

  • For classes off campus, see class locations for directions.
  • There is no parking fee for any off campus locations.

  

Withdrawing from a Class, Cancellations, and Refunds

 

Withdrawing from a Class

You may request to withdraw from a Continuing Education class in writing (email or mail).  A $9.55 processing fee is assessed on all withdrawals.  A full refund (minus the processing fee) is available if the request to withdraw is received at least three business days prior to the start of the class or event.  No refund will be made after that date and supply fees are not refundable.

Refunds for Cancelled Classes

  • If a class is cancelled for reasons other than weather or a power failure, such as low enrollment, we will make every effort to notify you using the contact information you included with your registration. Refunds are 100% of the cancelled class fee.
  • Refunds will be issued in the original payment method: credit card or check (a check will be issued to refund a cash payment.)
  • Please allow 4-6 weeks for refunds. 

 

Campus Closures due to Weather or Power Failure

  • Campus closure will be announced on local TV and radio stations and posted online at www.schoolreport.org.This link opens a page on a different website Or call the campus main number at (425) 352-8000. 
    If the Cascadia campus is closed because of bad weather or a power failure, all Continuing Education classes will also be cancelled for the duration of the closure, regardless of the class location. Cancelled classes will be rescheduled for a makeup time whenever possible.
