About Internships

An internship benefits everyone:

  • Employers get highly motivated interns with current skills.
  • Students gain work experience in a field they may choose for a future career.
  • Students will meet and work with people who can suggest future directions and make referrals.

Look for an internship that’s a good fit for you and your career path. An internship is more than a summer job — it provides training and experience related to a career.

Internships for Academic Credit

At Cascadia, some programs require internships for academic credit. Other programs offer elective credit for internships. For details, see Internship Programs and Requirements.

An internship for credit can be paid or unpaid, can begin at any time, and can vary in length. Students can earn up to 5 quarter credits for an internship.

Did you know?

Service-learning projects are different from internships. They combine classroom instruction with community service.
