The Open Learning Center (OLC) provides technology assistance to support class assignments

The computer lab is available for you to receive help with the software programs used in Cascadia's courses. Trained assistants are available to help you individually or in small groups. Staff members can assist you with enhancing class projects and assist you with a wide range of computer applications, including web technology, programming applications and video editing.

The OLC has computers currently configured with Windows 7 and Office 2010, the Adobe CS5 Suite and other applications that are used in the classrooms. The OLC also has laptops for check-out, flat-bed scanners, a coin-op copier, and black & white and color printers for student use.

The OLC manages student access to Cascadia's network. The staff assists new and returning students with all of their network-related needs. The OLC also creates student ID cards on a system that integrates identification and library card services.

The OLC offers students, faculty and staff the tools to create multimedia projects or presentations, edit video footage, scan still images and create video for PowerPoint presentations for academic or college business use on Apple PC's with OS X as well.

Media Services offer applications such as iDVD, iMovie, Final Cut Express, Adobe Photoshop CS, as well as a Media Equipment check out program for projects requiring the use of still cameras, camcorders, and audio recorders.

The OLC is located in CC2-060 on the lower level next to the coffee stand and co-located with the Math & Writing Center.  Hours vary by quarter. See Open Learning Center for hours and contact information.
