
Financial Assistance For Students
Fall 2008 Scholarship Application Requirements
REQUIRED FOR BOTH SCHOLARSHIPS
1) Completed and signed
application.
2) Two Essays (one page maximum for each):
Essay #1:
Describe how your activities outside the classroom (clubs, volunteer work,
sports, employment, etc) contribute to achieving
your educational and career goals.
Essay #2: See
below for essay #2 topic specific to each scholarship.
3) Letter of Recommendation:
Letter must
be from a person who is not related to you. The same letter may be used for more
than one scholarship.
4) Transcripts:
Current CCC transcript and transcripts for all other colleges attended. If you
have fewer than 30 college credits, high school transcript
required. Unofficial transcripts are accepted.

Nathaniel Jacob Allen Memorial Scholarship
$300 for one quarter
Students who came to Cascadia without having completed either an adult high
school completion or GED are still eligible even if they have since received their
adult high school completion or GED through Cascadia. Applications may be
submitted each quarter.
Deadline: October 13 at 5:00 pm to the Cascadia Community College
Foundation office (CC2-281E)
Eligibility: Applicants must (1) have not received a high school diploma or GED upon entering
CCC and (2) plan to pursue a professional or
vocational certificate or an associates degree at CCC.
Fall 2008 Nathaniel Jacob Allen Memorial Scholarship Application
Grants
Complete Your Dream Grant
Students
who encounter financial obstacles that may jeopardize their ability to complete
10 or fewer credits to graduate from Cascadia Community College may apply for
the Complete Your Dream Grant. Completed applications must be turned in to the
Kodiak Corner front desk.
Eligibility:
Applicants must (1) have 10 or fewer credits remaining to complete an AA degree
or certificate, (2) be graduating from Cascadia Community College at the end of the quarter for which assistance is requested,
(3) have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA, and (4) be a Washington State
resident. A student may apply for this award only once.
2008-09 Complete Your Dream
Grant Application
Students in Technology Grant
Students who are enrolled in a technology class at Cascadia Community College
may apply for a Students in Technology Grant. Completed applications accompanied
by the
required letter of recommendation must be turned in to the Cascadia Community
College Foundation office (CC1-281E).
Eligibility:
Applicants must (1) be enrolled at CCC, (2) be enrolled in a technology course,
and (3) use the grant money to pay for texts or recommended books and/or computer lab fees and supplies. Preference is given to students
committed to a career in the field of internet and/or web technology, with
demonstrated financial need, and/or applying for the grant for the first time.
One letter of recommendation from the Cascadia faculty teaching the student's
technology course is required.

Richart Student Support Fund
Loans
Students with demonstrated financial need may request short-term loans from the
Richart Student Support Fund when their financial aid or loan payouts will not be
received in time to pay for tuition, books and/or materials.
Short-term loan requests are considered by the Foundation year round on a
case-by-case basis. Students should contact Foundation staff at 425-352-8248 or
foundation@cascadia.edu for
more information.
Grants
The Richart Fund also provides small grants to students experiencing
serious and/or emergent needs that could hinder or interrupt their education.
Requests for small grants are considered by the Foundation year round on a case-by-case basis.
Only students referred by a faculty member or Student Financial Services staff
will be considered for loans or grants. For more information please contact the Foundation
