Cascadia’s students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and have diverse educational goals.

We interviewed several students about their decision to attend Cascadia and their experiences here so far.  Meet them and read their answers below:

Why did you choose to attend Cascadia College?
“I chose to attend Cascadia because it has a high school completion program, so I could study for my associate degree and pursue my high school diploma at the same time, besides that, I heard Bothell is relatively safe environment.”
 
What important lesson did you learn/are you learning at Cascadia?
“I learned how to study/work collaboratively with other student and be an active learner.”
 
How did Cascadia prepare you for success at university?
“All the assignments: Tons of readings, long papers, presentations and group works prepare me to be successful at university.”
 
My advice to future Cascadia students is...
“If you have any question, do not hesitate to ask your professor, professors at Cascadia are friendly and willing to help you! Also, be involved in club activities and attend events, that will enrich your campus life at Cascadia.”

Why did you choose to attend Cascadia College?
“I chose to attend Cascadia because this is one of the best community college in Washington, rank number two. Plus, it has top quality programs that help students build up their confidence as well as their skills before accessing any university.”
 
What important lesson did you learn/are you learning at Cascadia?
“At Cascadia, I learned how to speak out and raise my ideas in class effectively, and that is what most of the exchange students find hard as the result of embarrassment. Also, I learned how to collaborate and team up with my classmates in group projects or group presentations.”
 
How did Cascadia prepare you for success at university?
“Cascadia is the 2nd best community in the nation and holds their students to high expectation to meet deadlines and produce quality work as a university would. Also, Cascadia prepares the students to demonstrate their abilities to work effectively in a team as well as demonstrate their abilities to integrate their learning and apply it in new settings. In my opinion, those skills are perfectly compatible with the needs of any university.”
 
My advice to future Cascadia students is...
“To balance their schedules effectively and scientifically, to fully attend classes and read more reference books in order to make more sense of their professors' lectures in class effectively.”

“I chose to attend Cascadia because it ranked as 2nd best community college in the nation. It provides quality education with the best faculty members.”
 
What important lesson did you learn/are you learning at Cascadia?
“I worked for student government and learned how to work with others. I also learned leadership from classes at Cascadia since it emphasizes group-oriented work. It's really beneficial for now, where I am required to do many group works at UW Madison.”
 
How did Cascadia prepare you for success at university?
“Cascadia prepared me for university success by providing good advice on how to transfer to a university. There are many great advisors on campus that you can ask for help any time. They are more than willing to help you to success in the future.”
 
My advice to future Cascadia students is...
“To work hard to manage your GPA, participate in student organizations for leadership experiences, and take advantage of using one of the best libraries in the nation.”

Why did you choose to attend Cascadia College?
“I chose to attend Cascadia because it was affordable and made it possible for me to pursue higher education at a smaller college with greater attention from faculty. Being ranked no.2 regionally in 2007 and having a relationship with UWB and it's facilities was definitely a win.”
 
What important lesson did you learn/are you learning at Cascadia?
“At Cascadia, I learned/am learning new perspectives on everything I've already learnt. I find that I'm building on preexisting knowledge through completely new insights. The best lessons I've learnt at Cascadia stem from being a critical thinker and approaching higher education with new found passion and taking in-class concepts to the real world.”
 
How did Cascadia prepare you for success at university?
“Cascadia prepared me for university success by providing me with a strong foundation of knowledge for my desired major and by exposing me to experiences and expectations at university. A big part owes to how Cascadia has taught me to work independent and cooperatively to the best of my ability.”
 
My advice to future Cascadia students is...
“Work hard, be inquisitive, incorporate learning outcomes, and take advantage of the great resources you have! Always be reminded that Cascadia is just the beginning of your academic journey, make every step count and what you want it to be.”
