Spring Break & Spring Quarter

Cascadia has made the decision to continue current operations through online modalities, as available. Spring quarter begins Monday, April 6 with online curriculum, where applicable. Financial aid will be distributed on March 31. Graduation will be June 19, 2020.

Getting Online Resources

 

The Bock Learning Center Zoom Tutoring

Zoom tutoring session are available for most writing and STEM (chemistry, math, physics, and programming)
courses during our regular hours of operation. Review the tutor schedules on our website to determine when a
tutor in your area will be available. Students can schedule sessions in advance or ‘drop-in’ for more immediate
help. 

Comcast Low-to-No-Cost Internet

In response to emergency measures associated with Coronavirus (COVID-19), Internet Essentials will increase speeds from 15/2 Mbps to 25/3 Mbps for all customers. This speed increase will happen automatically - no action is required by customers. In addition, new customers will receive two months of free service.

COMCAST OFFERS FREE WIFI HOT SPOTS

"Comcast will open up about 65,000 hot spots for free, public use in Washington, McDonald said. There’s a total of about 1.6 million hot spots — public and private — in the state, he said."

Equipment Check-in and Check-out Services

Available for students during normal Help Desk hours through Friday, March 20. Beginning Monday, March 23: Monday-Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. by appointment only. Students with current equipment checkouts will be contacted with information via email in the upcoming days. For Spring Quarter, students will be able to check out laptops for the entire quarter, free of charge (while supplies last). Temporary Access to Adobe Applications for Home Use

Pending approval from Adobe, Cascadia Information Services should have more information to share at www.cascadia.edu/helpdesk prior to the start of Spring Quarter.

Additional Student & Community Resources

 

Aroha Compassion Grant - emergency funds

Students who encounter emergency circumstances that present a barrier to attending school or achieving their academic goals may apply for emergency financial assistance.  The program awards up to $500 per application for a variety of one-time/short-term expenses. No more than $1,000 during a student’s lifetime at Cascadia.  Contact the CARE team to be considered for this grant.

 

Running Start Spring Registration: returning and new applications

If you have not yet registered for Spring Quarter and you are unable to meet with your high school counselor to get their signature on your Enrollment Verification Form, please email the Running Start office at runningstart@cascadia.edu so we can assist you. 

High school seniors who are not current Cascadia Running Start students may be eligible to meet missing high school graduation requirements by attending Cascadia during Spring quarter. Contact Kris Panton at kpanton@cascadia.edu for more information.

 

Kodiak Cave Food Pick-up & Delivery

The Kodiak Cave will expand services to include delivery. Using the current Curbside Pick Up Form, you will now have the option to choose curbside pickup or delivery.

In order to be able to access the services at the Cave, new students must fill out an intake form and provide the following at pick up OR delivery:

  • Student ID or Government Issued ID

  • A screen shot of the current quarter schedule (this can also be emailed to kijones@cascadia.edu)

 Delivery will be available on Thursdays, 10:00 am-2:00 pm. All delivery orders must be placed by Wednesdays at 12:00 pm. Please note that the student ordering must be present at the pickup location and show valid ID.

 As soon as we receive your order, we will send a confirmation email.

 

STUDENT PARKING

Permit sales are on pause until further notice.

 

ORCA Cards

Students with winter quarter ORCA cards will continue to be able to access bus services using your currently activated card until April 6th. If you need to purchase a new card or re-activate your current card, please email enrollment@cascadia.edu.
