Innovations Fund

In order to fulfill the college's vision to "be a community of learners pioneering innovative pathways to successful learning" the college has established an Innovation Fund under the President's Office, managed by the Fund Development Director. The Innovation Project invites Cascadia employees--full, part-time, temporary, and students sponsored by an employee--to submit proposals for innovative projects to be funded from the college's Innovation Fund. Individuals or groups may submit proposals. Proposals may be submitted at any time. Proposals submitted earlier in the year may have a greater chance of receiving funding simply because no deliberate attempt is made to hold back monies for any particular quarterly disbursement. When funds are exhausted, new proposals will be held for the next funding year.

Projects should innovate around:

• College strategic directions
• College values
• College-wide learning outcomes

Projects should take into account four stages or steps:

• Investigate - What do we already know?
• Innovate - What is your plan?
• Assess - How will you measure the influence of your project?
• Communicate - How, where, and to whom will you tell about your success or results?

Projects should provide:

• New, different and/or creative approaches, practices and or directions, perspectives or solutions

Projects should address:

• Expected outcomes
• Current standards and how these standards will change.

Ideas may include collaboration or develop partnerships with internal or external stakeholders.
