NOTICE: Campus Way Sidewalk Closure – LBA – Starts July 1

UWB will be starting a month long painting project on LBA.  The paint on the exterior beams and columns outside of LBA 3rd floor (as you look out the Reading Room window) has deteriorated. We have done our best to maintain, however the time has come to remove the old and paint new.

On Friday, July 1st we will close the sidewalk near the lower level of LBA for approximately a month to allow the contractor to complete their work. Attached you will find a campus map noting the area that will be closed, along with an ADA route to navigate around the closure.

A few things to note:

  • ADA access path heading south: Exterior elevator near Campus Safety & skybridge up to the promenade level > south on promenade to UW1 (Founders Hall) > elevator down to Campus Way level and head south
  • ADA access path heading north: Into UW1 (Founders Hall) and up to promenade level > north on promenade to exterior elevator at the skybridge > down to Campus Way level head north
  • The east exit out of LBA on the lower level will be closed: This will be an emergency exit only as it exits into a construction area.
  • The areas that will be closed include the LBA loading dock and adjacent sidewalk. Access to the Library’s book drop box will still be open. There will be no access to bike lockers in LBA loading dock.

If you have any questions, concerns, or would like an accessible map, please reach out to UWB Facilities: uwbfs@uw.edu or 425.352.5644.
