Jared Leising
English
Jared Leising has taught English at Cascadia since the school’s inception. In 2008 and 2014, he was a recipient of Cascadia’s “Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Service” award. Jared has served as president of the Washington Community College Humanities Association and on the board of directors for 826 Seattle. He is also the author of a chapbook—The Widows and Orphans of Winesburg, Ohio—and his poems have appeared in various regional publications, as well as on Metro Buses and local radio. Jared curated the 2010 Jack Straw Writers Program, works as a Scholar for Humanities Washington, and volunteers as a creative writing teacher at the King County Jail. Before moving to Seattle, he received his M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Houston.
