Linda Richard

Mathematics

Linda Richard teaches mathematics at Cascadia College. Her background includes 9 years in business and more than 10 years in education, including mathematics curriculum writing and K-12 teacher professional development. She’s been active in Washington State’s Bridge to College Mathematics course, teaching the course in its pilot year and providing professional learning for teachers implementing the course.

Linda’s teaching interests include positioning mathematics as a tool for equity and opportunity, and connecting college instruction with career pathways. Her motivating belief is that all students are capable of complex mathematical thinking. Linda holds a Masters in Teaching degree from Seattle University, an M.S. in Operations Research from the University of North Carolina, and a B.A. in Mathematics from Carleton College. She is National Board Certified.
