Learning Technologies & Design

The Learning Technologies and Design (LTD) Department is here to help you with your remote/online and hybrid learning at Cascadia.

Our Most Common Learning Technology Tools

Most of our classes use an online learning management system as their class site, and many classes also use live conferencing tools and exam proctoring tools.  The most common learning tools we use include:

  • Canvas, our main learning management system (almost all classes use this)
    • Log on to Canvas
    • May be accessed via multiple devices (laptop, tablet, mobile phone) and requires internet access
    • Learn “How to Use Canvas” with our free course
  • WAMAP, a math learning management system (many math classes use WAMAP alone, or with Canvas)
  • Zoom, a live conferencing tool, may be accessed via multiple devices

Our Learning Modalities

Cascadia classes are supported by a modest eLearning fee that pays for staff to support students with questions or issues regarding Canvas and other learning technologies, and for software licensing fees for students.

To learn more about course modalities (web-enhanced, hybrid, and online), and to select the mode that is a good fit for you, view the information in the Choosing Courses FAQ.
