The International Programs Office is located in the lower level of CC1-042.

Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm or by appointment.

Yukari Zednick

Director of International Programs


Yukari’s work at Cascadia’s International Programs began in 2011, first as an international student advisor, then as an assistant director of International Programs. As a director of International Programs, she oversees international marketing and enrollment, international student advising and services, and study abroad. She also closely works with English Language Program. Prior to Cascadia, she worked at Seattle Central College and at the University of Montana. Yukari holds a bachelor’s degree from Prefectural University of Kumamoto and a master’s degree from the University of Montana.

Lisa Jacobson

 

Lisa Jacobson

Assistant Director of International Programs


Lisa is a Pacific Northwest native, having grown up in Oregon and attended college in Washington. Prior to working at Cascadia, she has worked in international programs at North Seattle Community College and the University of Washington Bothell. Lisa loves to travel, and her passion for international education started when she studied abroad in Cameroon and France during college. Lisa earned her BA in Anthropology from the University of Puget Sound, and her M.Ed. from Seattle University. Now she lives in Seattle with her twin sister and their dog named Merlin. In her free time, Lisa enjoys going on walks with Merlin, playing the flute, practicing her French, and playing board games with friends.

Scott Han

 

Scott Han

Assistant Director of International Marketing


Scott was born and raised in Korea and he moved to the United States as an international student. He attended high school in Hawaii, and also went to a community college. Then he transferred to the University of Hawaii and received a degree in hotel management. He worked in two hotel chains in Honolulu for several years. He moved to the Washington State to earn Master degree. He attended the University of Washington for his MBA degree. He studied finance and marketing during the program. He likes to play all kinds of sports including, golfing, basketball and soccer.

Shao-Wei Wang

 

Shao-Wei Wang

International Student Advisor


Shao-Wei grew up in Taiwan and was educated both in Taiwan and in the US. She holds a Master's degree in Adult and Higher Education from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Before coming to Cascadia, Shao-Wei served as an International Student Advisor at the University of Missouri –St. Louis and the University of Oregon. Her passion and joy is derived from developing strong connections with international students. In her free time, Shao-Wei enjoys Zumba, shopping and exploring Seattle/Washington with her family.

Douglas F. Raiford

 

Douglas Raiford

International Student Advisor


Doug was born and raised in Miami, Florida where he earned his B.A. In International Advertising, which included a year abroad in Costa Rica. After graduating he worked and volunteered with a number of nonprofit organizations dealing with the arts and urban development. In 2010, he focused his career on international relations and higher education and began working with government sponsored organizations such as the Institute of International Education and the Mississippi Consortium of International Development in DC. Before accepting his position at Cascadia College, Douglas worked as an International Advisor and DSO for the Community Colleges of Spokane.

Heather Mueller International Student Advisor

International Student Advisor


Heather was born in Washington, DC and raised in the suburbs of Maryland. She moved to Washington in 2015 with her spouse to pursue her M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Seattle University in Seattle, WA. Prior to this, she earned her B.S. in Communication Management and Design from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. Before coming to Cascadia College, Heather served as the Student Life and International Student Advisor at DigiPen Institute of Technology. Additionally, she has previously worked in the International Education Programs office at Seattle Central College as a Program Assistant. In her free time, Heather enjoys live music, traveling to new places, playing board games and D&D with friends, and goofing around with her two cats, Princess Leia and Luna Lovegood.

Sydney Baker International Programs

 

Sydney Baker

Program Coordinator / Admission Specialist


Sydney is a Seattle area native and attended the University of Washington where she earned a Bachelor’s degree. While studying at UW she worked in the Executive Office of the President and Provost as well as the Study Abroad Office and studied abroad in Australia and Europe. Prior to working at Cascadia she worked for Education First summer language camps as a local program leader. In her free time she enjoys taking ballet classes, practicing French and horseback riding.

Program Assistant of International Programs


Amy was born and raised in Nome, Alaska and moved to Bellingham, Washington where she earned her Associates. She transferred to University of Washington to finish her studies and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and minor in Korean Language. Prior to working at Cascadia, Amy worked as an Administrative Coordinator where she would assist students to successfully apply to colleges. In her free time, she likes to go on hikes, self- study Korean, Chinese and explore the city with friends.

Ben Sugg

 

Ben Sugg

Academic Advisor / Transfer Specialist


Prior to coming to Cascadia, Ben was Coordinator of Academic Student Support at Pellissippi State Community College in Knoxville, Tennessee. There he furnished academic advising for students from ethnically, culturally, and economically diverse backgrounds as well as providing guidance and training for other staff and faculty advisors. He brings over 10 years of experience in higher education student services and is an alumnus of The University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Ben is delighted to be in the Pacific Northwest and looks forward to forging relationships and advancing student success here at Cascadia. Some of Ben’s interests outside of higher education include marine science and coastal ecology, cinema, and Seattle Sounders FC soccer.

Luz Mangaser

 

Luz Mangaser

Graphic Designer


Bong grew up in the Philippines and graduated with a BA in Advertising from College of the Holy Spirit in the Philippines. Bong went to Cascadia College where she earned certificates in Web Foundation and Database Development in 2012. She then went on to finish her AA in Interactive Web Design at Everett Community College in 2015. Bong is responsible for creating and managing Cascadia’s International Programs’ web content as well as designing International Programs print collateral such as flyers, brochures, posters and many others.
