Coursework may be completed through a combination of web enhanced (face-to-face), hybrid, and online modes, though not every course is offered in the same modality each quarter. Specific courses may be offered at certain times of the year. Consult the current Class Schedule.
Placement:
Many courses at Cascadia College have placement prerequisites for reading, writing, and math ability. The courses that you will place into determine how you progress through your pathway and how long your degree will take. There are a variety of ways to find your English and Math placement level.
Math Notes:
You will need to consult with an academic advisor after placement to be sure to enroll in a course that is consistent with your planned course of study.
Placement into MATH using college transcripts or placement assessment is recommended before enrolling in your first quarter of the Web Application Programming degree. MATH placement is required to begin taking programming courses.

Planning Your Courses:
Dedicated Academic Advisor: Students in the Application Development Program have access to a dedicated IT academic advisor. Your advisor will help you develop the skills to make academic and career pathway decisions. Through advising, your advisor will support you to make connections between academic interests, long term goals, and career opportunities. The IT advisor will assist with education planning, internship and career planning, and graduation processes.

With a degree in Application Development, you’ll be prepared to work as a web developer, designing, creating, and testing new web applications. Whether you’re launching your career or rebooting it, this degree will give you the experience and the tools you need to be successful in today’s and tomorrow’s workplace. Learn to design and create user interfaces, write code, and utilize development frameworks, web services, and databases.

Career possibilities from certificates are based off of the assumption that students have existing experience or work history in Information Technology. Certificates may compliment or build upon existing work experience. For those without industry experience, a degree will yield best job placement outcomes.
