Community Engagement Officers
Our goal is to promote Kodiak spirit and a sense of belonging on campus.
Located in the Activities & Recreation Center (ARC)
Roles
Our Community Engagement Officers team includes three distinct roles, with interconnected responsibilities. You can contact the Community Engagement Officers at ceo@cascadia.edu, or submit a design request at Student Life Resources.
Our Graphic Arts CEOs design all the visual content for our promotional materials.
They make posters, flyers, sandwich boards, brochures, stickers, and logos that you
see around campus for The Office of Student Life and student club programs. Additionally,
they create digital content such as web banners, animated videos, motion graphics,
and our latest project, the Kody Coloring Book on Canvas. Check out some of our graphic design work!
Our Digital Engagement CEO manages our social media presence and creates much of Student
Life’s digital content. The Digital Engagement CEO produces projects such as the “Kodiaks
in Quarantine” web series, promotional videos for upcoming events, photo albums from
past events, interactive Instagram content, club interview videos, and all manner
of fun stories, polls, giveaways, and Q&As on social media.
Our Outreach & Marketing CEOs are all around campus connecting with students. They
do frequent tabling events and mobile marketing visits, where they give out Cascadia
themed stickers, while encouraging students to sign up for our weekly e-newsletter
“Kody’s Weekly”. They present in classes to help new students get connected with involvement
opportunities within The Office of Student Life and student clubs. The Outreach &Marketing
CEOs bring Kody the Kodiak to life and manage all our mascot’s public appearances.
These CEOs do the day-to-day work of hanging posters around campus, designing and
distributing the TP Times to every bathroom, and compiling all the announcements for
our weekly newsletters.
Student Leader Bios (Meet the CEOs)
Monica He (she/her) - Graphic Designer
I graduated from Bothell High School. I chose to attend Cascadia because it’s close
to home, and I liked how much academic and social support it offered students. My
advice for new students is the faculty and staff are all very friendly and enthusiastic
about working with new people, so don’t be afraid to seek them out when you have questions
– they want to help you! After Cascadia, I want to earn a Bachelor’s in Information
Science and go on to graduate school. My hobbies and interests include reading webtoons,
street dancing (I cannot dance.. I just like watching), and documentaries. If I could
be a superhero, my superpower would be time control. I could stop time to sleep as
much as I want, or rewind time if I do something embarrassing and want to not do that
again. I’ve been watching a show about people with supernatural abilities called “Moving”
recently, so I think flying would be cool too. I don’t have a favorite snack since
I will eat almost anything, but I have been eating a lot of scorched rice crackers
these days. Email me at mhe@cascadia.edu.
Hiya Mehta (she/her) - Outreach & Marketing
I am a running start student from Inglemoor High School in Kenmore. I chose to attend
Cascadia because a lot of my friends who were also doing running start were going
there. My advice for new students is to make friends and don’t be afraid to talk to
someone, it will make school a lot more fun. After Cascadia, I want to transfer to
UW Seattle. My hobbies include watching tv, movies, and listening to music. If I could
be a superhero, my superpower would be teleportation. My favorite snacks are chips
and chocolate. Email me at hmehta@cascadia.edu.
Julianna Lin (she/her) – Outreach & Marketing
I am a running start student from Woodinville High School. I chose to attend Cascadia
because I had always heard about how great running start is through friends, so it
just made sense to come here. My advice for new students is to get involved with the
Cascadia community! It makes school so much more enjoyable. After Cascadia, I want
to go into a career in UX or UI. My hobbies include reading, dance, and watching tv.
If I could be a superhero, my superpower would be teleportation. My favorite snacks
are gummy bears and strawberries. Email me at jlin@cascadia.edu.
Selina Wu (she/her) - Outreach & Marketing
I studied at the No. 3 Senior High School in Shenzhen, China. I chose to attend Cascadia
because my brother used to study in Cascadia and he thought Cascadia was super great
and worthy. Then I also came to join this big family. My advice for new students is
to make more friends! Joining clubs and attending the events; you will find joyful
things in there. After Cascadia, my plan is to transfer to UBC and study business
in the future. My hobbies include playing golf and the violin. To be honest, I enjoy
all sport activities. I also love fashion and shopping, and that’s what I do in my
spare time. If I could be a superhero, I want to be Iron Man, so that I can have exhaustless
money for saving people. My favorite snack is honey flavored chips. Email me at jwu@cascadia.edu.
