Cascadia Network Account

A Cascadia Network Account gives you access to the many services Cascadia provides over the campus network.

Getting Started

Students

Your account is automatically created within four weeks before you start your first class at Cascadia (i.e. if you are registered for Fall, you will get your account information four weeks prior to the start of Fall quarter). You will get a message to the email address you used for enrollment/registration with your user name included and the pattern for your starting/default password.  If you find that your account was not created or you have other issues, please contact the Help Desk for further assistance.  You must change your default password before you can use it to create a UW NetID or access other various technical resources.  Details on that process can be found here.

Faculty and Staff

Your supervisor gives you your account information when you begin work at Cascadia. See below if you need to change or reset your password.

Finding Your Student Email Address/Network Account User Name

Before contacting the Help Desk, please check your email (the one you used to apply/register with) for a message with the subject of "Welcome" or "Welcome Back".  This message contains your Cascadia Network Account user name and information about your default password.  If you cannot locate that message or need assistance, please use one of the below resources to get help.

Change or reset your network password

All new accounts will be "flagged" and must have their password changed from the default before they can be used to create UW NetID or access other technology resources.  you will need to complete one of the processes below to change your password before using your account.

When on campus:

  • Log in on a campus computer with your known user name and password (make sure "STUDENT" is the domain if you are a student and "EMPLOYEE" if you are an employee)
  • If your password is already expired or "flagged" to be reset at next login, you will be prompted at this point to provide a new password.
    • Follow the instructions onscreen to change your password. The new password that you create must follow the strong password guidelines.
  • If you aren't prompted at log in to change your password, hold down both the Ctrl and Alt keys and press the Delete key.
    • Click the “Change Password” button. The “Change Password” window will appear.
    • If the “Log on to” drop down box does not show the correct choice, Student or Employee, click the arrow and make the correct choice.
    • Follow the instructions onscreen to change your password. The new password that you create must follow the strong password guidelines.

From any web browser on or off campus:

You have two options for changing your password via your web browser:

  • Change your password using Office 365 tools. (preferred method)
      • Browse to https://login.microsoftonline.com/
      • Enter your email address and, after the redirect to our login page, enter your known password.

        • Follow the instructions onscreen to change your password. The new password that you create must follow the strong password guidelines
      • Once you have reset your password for the first time, you will be guided through the process to enable password reset and recovery options for your account.
      • If your password is not expired or "flagged" to be reset at next login, you will need to use the Office 365 tools to manually reset your password.  This process will only work if you have set your account up to use Office 365 for this previously.
        • Browse to https://login.microsoftonline.com
        • Enter your student email address and, after the redirect to our login page, click on "Reset your password"
