Preparing for Monday

Fall is here and the summer has been productive. Wednesday’s Board of Trustees meeting summed up much of our summer strategic planning and began the executive team’s Year-in-Review reports.

Next Monday is Convocation for all employees in Mobius Hall at 3:00 PM. We’ll be introducing new employees and sharing our strategic planning. As well, we’ll have some comments on the State of the College and engage in a “values exercise”.

The “values exercise” will be an important part of the day as we take a look at our 9 college values established in the year 2000 and determine if they need a refresh. After 26 years, I hope to reground our institution in the concepts we hold most important to our teaching and learning.

Your email IN box will also see a number of annual emails from me next Monday. Immigration protocols, anti-discrimination messaging, and new emergency preparedness videos are just a few of the topics. They’ll all come at once, so please take a moment to review each one.

A special thanks to the Technology Accessibility Committee. Attached is their 2025-26 Year End Report which highlights the accessibility initiatives completed over the past year, provides an update on the college’s digital accessibility efforts as the Title II ADA compliance deadline approaches, and outlines the committee’s upcoming priorities and initiatives. Bryan Fauth and Brandy Long chair this work group and we appreciate their diligence in this work.

Attached is the most recent list of Councils and Workgroups. The executive team is working to determine which groups have vacancies so that we can get those vacancies filled next week. If you are a Council or Work Group Chair, please take a look at the chart to see if it is accurate. Also, please let me know if you have vacancies. I will repost the chart next week so that the Assemblies have accurate information as they work to appoint new committee members.
