Mathematics and Education

I believe that learning mathematics is an active, not passive, process. Students are invited to be part of a classroom community that focuses on collaborative engagement and communicating one's understanding with peers.

  • Anna Sue McNeill Excellence in Assessment, Teaching and Learning awarded by the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (2015)

Community & Professional Engagement

  • Served as Bridge to College Math Higher Education Lead since 2013; design curriculum and facilitate professional learning for statewide 12th grade transition course
  • Participate in both Washington and national work related to improving math education
  • Member of National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges

 

Hobbies

When I'm not working I love to spend time outdoors - hiking, skiing, camping, kayaking, gardening, etc - with my partner and two kids.
