Students think creatively in my classes by solving design problems, and learn actively by practicing technical skills; they learn to communicate with viewers through visual form, and interact with their colleagues through the drafting and critique processes.

I am a painter and public artist with work in the collections of the Tacoma Art Museum, the State of Washington, the cities of Seattle and Tacoma, and Microsoft; my commissioned public art can be seen locally and across the country. My most recent public commission involved working with artists from the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe in the design of an arts plaza for the City of Auburn WA.
Hobbies
Besides working as a painter and public artist, I play traditional music--mostly Irish--on the fiddle.
